Well, today, on a whim, he started searching again on the internet, and found a classified website. On it, he found what seemed to be 'too good to be true'. A lone mini schnauzer, right in the next neighborhood! His sisters had already been adopted (one just went home yesterday), and he was left. Steve called up the owners, and had a lengthy chat. Everything just felt right.
We took the kids (surprised the heck out of them) to see the dog this afternoon, knowing full well that they wouldn't want to leave w/out him, and sure enough, we all fell in love with him.. even Amanda.. who kept trying to pet him. So he came home with us.
He's the cutest little thing, and seems to be adjusting well, so far. He follows us all around, which is quite cute, and barks at Mittens (our oldest cat), for he wants to play. Mittens has been brave enough to come up to him, and smell him to check him out, but runs when the dog goes after him. Maybe in time, they will be come playmates.
Here's a picture of the little guy. The girls have named him 'Oliver' - 'Ollie', for short.

Hey Hannah,Becca & Amanda,
I just saw the pictures of your new puppy Ollie. He is SO cute!! Boy, am I an envious Aunt Sandy! Your Uncle Rick is really allergic to dogs (or so he says........) He told me the same about cats too, and we've had plenty. I'm so happy for you and know you will have a blast playing with Ollie. They are really fun dogs. I know a lot of people who have had them and they love to chase balls, sticks in your yard. Ollie will be everyone's best friend (especially if they have a doggie treat for him. Love you, Aunt Sandy & Uncle Rick
Holly - the puppy is adorable!! Looks like a keeper! I love the pic of the 3 girls with him - Amanda looks so excited!!
